Children of disabled and poor veterans
This group of children touches the core of justice in America. The parents of these children dedicated part of their lives to protect and preserve our freedom and way of living. Many parents lost limbs or were wounded in other ways that caused them to be permanently disabled. In short, they are heroes that deserve justice for their deeds of bravery on our behalf. We don’t want them or their children to suffer lack of food or other necessities.
A few years ago The Center for American Progress (www.americanprogress.org) reported that “1.5 million veterans are at risk of homelessness due to poverty, lack of support networks, and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing.”
Let’s show our heroes that we care about them and their children.
